MEET JOSH AND BRAD, OWNERS AND OPERATORS

How Falling Star Got Started

Josh and Brad, the founders of Falling Star, both proudly served their country in the military. While they didn’t serve together, their story starts there. Brad was stationed in Afghanistan and later relocated to Colorado Springs. That’s where he met Josh, and during a game night with their kids, they discovered something truly divinely inspired.

While Brad was still overseas, there was a memorial on his base for a fallen soldier who had lost her life in combat. When the base was ordered to shut down, Brad took it upon himself to return the memorial to her family. He found them on Facebook and was able to send them pieces of it.

Fast-forward to Colorado Springs — Brad ended up moving in right next door to Josh. One night, while hanging out with their kids, they made the connection. That fallen soldier was Josh’s late wife.

The new best friends spent time together whenever possible, including going to the same church services every week, where they came to another divine realization: their calling to deliver the best, most honest HVAC services and plumbing solutions to their community. Josh was already studying to become an HVAC tech, so Brad joined him. Falling Star Heating and Cooling opened in 2021, and the rest is history.

Brad N. — Owner/Founder

Brad’s path to owning Falling Star started from the ground up. His HVAC journey began as an apprentice, he was promoted to technician after just three months, and spent a year working as both an installer and technician before taking the leap to start his own company. Brad is from a little bit of everywhere, but mostly the Midwest and East Coast. Before Falling Star, he spent 24 years serving in the Army. Outside of work, he likes to work out, play hockey on PS5, and golf. One of his proudest personal moments was throwing out the first pitch at a Kansas City Royals game!! What drives Brad is helping people who’ve been taken advantage of by shady technicians or companies which is why integrity is, and always will be, his most important value.

Josh W. — Owner/Founder

Josh brings 15 very skilled years of HVAC experience to Falling Star, along with a background before that in the Army. He is originally from South Dakota, but is living out Colorado to the max as a hockey fan who loves spending time with his daughters, snowboarding as often as the mountains will let him, and riding motorcycles. In fact, if there’s somewhere his bike can take him, he’s likely already planning the trip. For Josh, integrity is everything: he believes you’re only as good as your word, and without integrity, your word means nothing.

Marcus W. — HVAC Service and Install Manager

Marcus has been in HVAC since 2013, with a particular passion and expertise in boilers and installs. Born and raised in Colorado Springs, he jokes that he still hasn’t gotten used to the weather. When he’s not leading the team, you’ll find him playing flag football, coaching softball, or baking. He describes himself as quiet but funny, sneaky with the jokes, and “bald but beautiful in his own eyes”. For Marcus, lifelong learning is the core value that matters most: HVAC is always evolving, and staying current means he can better support his team and educate homeowners on what’s changing in the field.

Nick M. — Master Plumber

Nick’s path to plumbing is anything but ordinary. Before joining the trade, he spent 18 years as a performance motorcycle mechanic and four years as a lead carpenter for a remodeling company. Since 2018, he’s brought that same hands on problem solving expertise to plumbing. Originally from Northern Illinois, Nick lived in Wisconsin for 20 years before making his way to Colorado Springs. Outside of work, he enjoys riding bicycles and competitively racing motorcycles. He even holds two land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats and has appeared in TWO motorcycle documentaries. What keeps him at Falling Star? The team and family feel of the company, paired with a commitment to lifelong learning. As Nick puts it: “If you stop learning, you stop growing.”

Maddie M. — Office Manager

Maddie has been leading teams since she was 18 years old, her love for people and organization shows in everything she does. A Colorado Springs native, she’s an avid Colorado Avalanche fan, loves spending time with her boyfriend and their golden retriever, Russell, and tries to get outside off-roading, or camping as much as possible. Fun facts: she’s one of 12 siblings(and a twin!). When she’s not in the office, she’s often working on cars or spending time with loved ones. Integrity was already Maddie’s top value before joining Falling Star; her guiding philosophy is how you do anything is how you do everything.

Jesse P. — Plumbing Apprentice

Jesse brings a strong foundation in customer service and mechanical systems to every job. A proud Fort Worth, Texas native, Jesse has traveled to 21 states and is a diehard Cornhuskers fan (Go Big Red!). What he loves most about Falling Star is simple: Integrity. It’s written on the walls the moment you walk in the door, and it’s a daily reminder to be honest and to work hard for every customer. Jesse takes pride in delivering honest, high quality work to the best customers around.

Ni'za F. — Customer Service Representative

Ni’za’s expertise is all about people, listening closely to customer needs and making sure the job gets done right. A Colorado Springs native, she spends her free time reading, playing basketball, and hiking. Fun fact: she’s never broken a bone, and her guilty pleasure show is 90 Day Fiancé. Ni’za loves that Falling Star is both locally and veteran owned, and she carries all four of the company’s core values with her every day, believing they make her a better CSR.

Trumane "Tru" P. — Comfort Advisor

Tru’s background as an HVAC service technician gives him a unique edge as a Comfort Advisor, he’s now dedicated to helping homeowners find the right systems for their comfort and needs, all built on strong communication and relationships. Originally from Pasadena, California, Tru’s hobbies include fencing, reading, and painting miniatures. He plays chess every day and is always up for video games. What drives him is simple: giving customers peace of mind and making sure they’re fully satisfied.

Jake R. — Comfort Advisor

Jake brings a truly unique background to the team. Before Falling Star, he served as a Human Intelligence Collector in the Army, then worked as a supply house sales rep, giving him real expertise in building relationships with people from all walks of life. Originally from Helena, Montana, Jake spends his free time playing guitar, painting, and fishing. He’s a proud dad to two amazing twin daughters. What he loves most about his role is meeting new people, diagnosing problems, and offering solutions like a boss.

Anthony D. — Lead Installer

Anthony is the Lead Installer with Falling Star. A Colorado Springs native, he spends his free time playing guitar and enjoying time with friends and family. He’s bilingual and is always looking for new ways to sharpen his craftsmanship. What Anthony loves most about working at Falling Star is being part of a great team that pushes him to bring his best every day. Integrity is the core value that matters most to him, he takes pride in his work and makes sure every customer receives a quality installation.

Isidro F. — HVAC Technician

Isidro brings solid HVAC service experience to the team. Originally from Kansas, he moved to Colorado Springs with his wife. He stays active at the gym and enjoys perfecting his craft of cooking in his downtime. He’s known for kicking off the morning right, making sure his coworkers have a fun pre-workout to get the day started. Isidro is committed to providing quality work and honesty on every job.

Mel G. — HVAC Technician

Mel isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and get the job done right, no matter how hands on it gets. A Colorado Springs local, he stays active with workouts, sports, video games, and hiking. He even runs 5Ks in his spare time and never misses a Broncos game! Mel’s favorite part of his work at Falling Star is making sure every customer walks away 100% happy and satisfied. He’s equally passionate about his team, and you’ll usually find him keeping things light with a laugh on the job.
